De La Hoya vs. Trinidad

September 18, 1999, is a date I will never forget. It was a quick four-hour night at Mandalay Bay in Vegas.

De La Hoya vs. Trinidad: We got on a plane in Oakland around 5 pm and rolled into Mandalay around 8 pm.

I walked in and got tickets from scalpers at half price, then stood in line behind Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston ( I was actually behind Jennifer). We went to our seats and watched the fight. Joe bet the guy $20 next to me on De La Hoya. When it was done, we walked out with Kevin Costner, who would not talk to us. We walked back into the Mandalay, went to a bar, and sat beside Charles Oakley. Landman ordered him a drink.
